Start with the application

Final material, geometry, tolerances and documentation must be confirmed against the drawing and operating conditions.

Custom silicone parts should be classified first by what the component must do and how its geometry is created. A flat gasket may be cut from sheet; a continuous seal may be extruded; a three-dimensional component may require molding; a reinforced or multi-material part needs an overmolding or bonding strategy.

  • Provide the full assembly context around sealing, mounting and moving interfaces.
  • Mark critical-to-function dimensions rather than applying unnecessarily tight tolerances everywhere.
  • State continuous and peak temperature plus all fluids, cleaners and environmental exposures.
  • Define expected quantity, order frequency and prototype needs so the process can be selected appropriately.
  • List regulatory or customer-specific documentation explicitly at RFQ stage.
  • Describe the acceptance test that proves the part works in the final product.

Compliance Note

Documentation is material- and project-specific

Food-contact, medical, flame-retardant, electrical or chemical requirements should be stated at RFQ stage. LSAN will review the requested standard and available material documentation before quotation. A material option should not be treated as certified for every application unless the corresponding documentation is supplied and accepted.

Questions buyers ask before requesting a quote

Which product category should I choose?

Choose by geometry: flat parts are often cut, continuous cross-sections are extruded, three-dimensional parts are molded, flexible cyclic parts are diaphragms or bellows, and multi-material parts use overmolding or bonding.

Can LSAN help if my design is not finished?

Yes. Provide the assembly, operating conditions and functional target. LSAN can review manufacturability and identify missing information before tooling.

Do you accept low-volume prototype projects?

Prototype and low-volume routes can be reviewed. The most economical tooling and process depend on geometry, material and future production demand.

Can you match a sample?

A sample can support material, geometry and fit review, but a controlled drawing and acceptance criteria are recommended for repeat production.

What files should I send?

STEP/STP or IGES, a PDF drawing, material requirement, quantity, hardness, color, temperature, media, regulatory needs and the intended test method.
